OUTRIGHT BETS
In contrast with Moneylines (where a prediction is made for the winner of a single match), Outrights are used to predict the winner of an entire competition such as a Euro, a World Cup or a Grand Slam.
Typically, these bets are to be placed before the competition they refer to begins as it is the time where the odds are the most favorable for great profits. As time progresses and the event draws closer, the bookmakers always adjust their offers to properly reflect the current conditions of each team. It is possible to place such a bet after the tournament has become, however, in all likelihood, by that time, the odds will have crashed.
The next big competition in the schedule is, of course, the World Cup in Qatar in 2022. At this time the average offers for outrights for the top 10 are:
As we see, France and Brazil are expected to be the primary candidates for the title, followed closely by England. Previous champions Spain come up fourth, while traditional powers like Argentina and Germany share the fifth place. The team that right now stands at the top of the rankings for the national sides, Belgium, are as low as the seventh place.
The easy conclusion out of the above classification is that those who place bets considering the history, class and mindset of the teams involved, may stand a chance of receiving their money back up to 12 times.
It is quite worth the effort to monitor the odds offered for outright bets. There’s always a sweet period where the offers have the most value possible. Usually that is a few months before the first kick off. It is also strongly recommended to follow a team of professional tipsters that will indicate when is the correct time to place such bets.
