TYPES OF BETS
Moneyline
MONEYLINE
This type of betting is the first that ever came up when the notion of predicting an outcome crossed the minds of human beings. Which side will win in a confrontation between two teams or two single athletes. Nothing more, nothing less. In fact, it is also known as “draw no bet”, as, if the result is a draw, all bets are refunded.
Over time and through the added betting types, punters can include in their wagers any possible handicaps that may change who would be considered as the winner. They can also be added to all sorts of combined bets. Let’s see some examples to understand the concept:
Example #1
Match
Team A vs Team B
Specials
No Handicaps
Odds
2.50 for Team A,
3.00 for Team B
Winner
Team B
Stake
€ 100
If a moneyline was placed on Team B to win then the payout would be € 100 x 3.00 = € 300.
Example #2
Match
Team A vs Team B
Specials
2 goals handicap for Team A
Odds
2.50 for Team A,
3.00 for Team B
Stake
€ 100
Final Score
1-0 for Team A
Winning Bet - Team B
Final Score
2-0 for Team A
Winning Bet - Team B
A moneyline on Team B would win for a score up to 1-0 in favor of Team A. Any score that would lead to a victory for the home side from 2 – 0 and above would lead to winning bets that have been placed indicating Team A as winner.
The difference between a Moneyline bet and an Outright bet is that the latter refers to an entire competition rather than a single match.
This sort of betting is available on all online bookmakers. Typically, it is the easiest and safest bet to place as it does not require too much studying of the underlying circumstances in order to make a decision. However, it might not be as profitable as other types, as the odds for it are the baseline.
