THINGS TO REMEMBER
This was the first World Cup to be played in a Nordic country, as well as the first time where at least one game per round was televised. Additionally, at the final, the records for both the younger scorer (Pelé at 17 years and 249 days) and the oldest scorer (Nils Liedholm at 35 years, 263 days) were set, marking the inauguration of one of the two best players ever, in football history. Another first, was established through the Brazilian national team won a World Cup in a different continent than its own.
Another interesting issue to explore is that it was also the first time that the ball of the tournament was white. In fact, Top-Star was the precursor of the company that we now know as Adidas.
